Boom Goes the Dynamite Evens Its Record with Doubleheader Sweep 6/06/2011
Boom Goes the Dynamite opened the twin bill with a nine-run uprising and never looked back in taking a pair of games on Monday night at Revolution Park. Boom downed Limerick's in the first game by a 20-2 count and then upended the Kenny Powers All-Stars in the nightcap by a 21-6 margin.
In the opener, Boom sent 13 men to the plate in the first inning to take the quick 9-0 advantage. Eric Grieser's three-run double was the big hit in the frame, while Chris Chumas and Blake Narr each drove in a pair of runs in the inning. Narr also notched the first of his two inside-the-park home runs in the third inning as part of a four-run rally.
In the nightcap, Boom fell behind 3-0 after the first inning, but answered with eight runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an insurmountable 8-3 lead. Grieser recorded a two-run single, while Narr added two run-scoring hits.
Narr capped his perfect night at the plate in the third inning with a three-run inside-the-park home run to make the score 17-4. He finished the twin bill 7-for-7 with 10 RBI.
Boom will now have a week off before returning to action on June 20 against Dixie's Tavern at 9:30 at Park Road Park.
