Boom Goes the Dynamite Evens Its Record with Doubleheader Sweep

Boom Goes the Dynamite opened the twin bill with a nine-run uprising and never looked back in taking a pair of games on Monday night at Revolution Park. Boom downed Limerick's in the first game by a 20-2 count and then upended the Kenny Powers All-Stars in the nightcap by a 21-6 margin.

In the opener, Boom sent 13 men to the plate in the first inning to take the quick 9-0 advantage. Eric Grieser's three-run double was the big hit in the frame, while Chris Chumas and Blake Narr each drove in a pair of runs in the inning. Narr also notched the first of his two inside-the-park home runs in the third inning as part of a four-run rally.

In the nightcap, Boom fell behind 3-0 after the first inning, but answered with eight runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an insurmountable 8-3 lead. Grieser recorded a two-run single, while Narr added two run-scoring hits.

Narr capped his perfect night at the plate in the third inning with a three-run inside-the-park home run to make the score 17-4. He finished the twin bill 7-for-7 with 10 RBI.

Boom will now have a week off before returning to action on June 20 against Dixie's Tavern at 9:30 at Park Road Park.

Boom Goes the Dynamite Goes 1-1 To Open Double-Elimination Playoff

Boom Goes the Dynamite opened the postseason with a 15-10 win over Pay Us Like Pujols, but dropped a hard-fought 18-15 decision to Jackalope Jack's in the second game of the double-elimination tournament.

In the opener, Boom took control early with 10 runs in the first 3 innings, including four in the second inning RBI hits by Eric Grieser, who led off the game with an inside-the-park home run, Nathan Buechlein and Andrew Brown, along with a sacrafice fly by Ryan LaBoy.

Boom would add five runs in the next three innings, including an RBI triple by Grieser and a run-scoring single by Blake Narr. Pujols scored 7 runs in the last two innings for the final margin.

In the nighcap, Boom jumped in front with six runs in the top of the first inning, with LaBoy's three-run, inside-the-park homer being the big hit in the inning. After the Jacks answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame, Boom added another run in the second inning on an RBI single by Tim Peters for a 7-4 lead.

The Jacks scored 10 runs over the next two innings for a 14-7 lead, before Boom rallied for eight runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 15-14 advantage through three-and-a-half innings. In the fourth, both Chris Chumas and Pat Carpenito notched two-run singles to lead the uprising.

The Jack's scored four runs in the bottom of the inning for the final margin.

Boom Goes the Dynamte will face Pay Us Like Pujols in an elimination game next Monday at 6:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to meet Jackalope Jack's at 7:30, with a second game slated for 8:30 pm if necessary.

Boom Goes the Dynamite Closes Regular Season With Doubleheader Split

Boom Goes the Dynamite (2-4-1) ended regular season play with a narrow 16-14 loss to Jackalope Jack's and a 15-4 win over the Master Batters on Monday night at Park Road Park.

In the first half of the twin bill, Boom rallied from an early 11-0 deficit, but was unable to plate any runs in the last two innings, en route to the 16-14 loss to the Jacks. Chris Chumas led the way for Boom with a pair of home runs and 5 RBI in the contest, while Andrew Brown was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.

In the nightcap, Boom got all the runs it would need against the Master Batters in the top of the first inning, as five runners crossed the plate, three on a towering homer by Chumas. Kyle Conrad and Nathan Buechlein also added RBI singles in the inning.

With three runs in each of the next two innings, Boom staked itself to a comfortable 11-3 lead. Ryan LaBoy's two-run triple in the second inning and RBI singles from Eric Grieser, Buechlein and Blake Narr provided the scoring punch in the rallys.

An RBI single by LaBoy in the top of the seventh ensured the final 15-4 margin.

Boom Goes the Dynamite will begin playoff action next Monday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.

Boom Goes the Dynamite Claims First Win of Year With 24-9 Decision

Boom Goes the Dynamite jumped on top early and never let its foot off the gas, claiming a 24-9 win over Jocks and Jill's on Monday night at Park Road Park.

Boom (1-3-1) claimed a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, on the strength of an RBI doublt by Ryan LaBoy, a two-run single by Kyle Conrad, and a run-scoring infield hit by Blake Narr.

After holding Jocks (3-2) scoreless in the top of the second, Boom sent 13 men to the plate in scoring 10 runs to claim an insurmountable 15-0 advantage. A three-run, inside-the-park home run by Eric Grieser, a two-run lighttower shot by LaBoy and a two-run inside-the-park home run by Tim Peters highlighted the inning.

Jocks and Jill's got on the board with two runs in the top of the third, but Boom answered with three in the bottom of the inning, including a sacrafice fly by Narr that plated Conrad.

Boom closed out its scoring in the game with six more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, including five straight run-scoring hits to ensure the final margin.

Boom will close out the regular season next Monday night.

Boom Goes the Dynamite Drops 18-7 Decision to Jackalope Jack's

Boom Goes the Dynamite struggled to find its offensive rhythm and fell to Jackalope Jack's by an 18-7 score on Monday night at Park Road Park.

Jackalope Jack's jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead with six runs in the first inning and three more in the top of the second.

Boom answered with three runs in the bottom of the second to cut the margin to 9-3 on a three-run homer by Blake Narr that plated Nathan Buechlein and Pat Carpenito.

The Jacks added to their advantage with nine more runs in the next two innings and three in the fifth and final frame. Boom added a single run in the third inning on a solor home run by Ryan LaBoy and three more in the fifth on a two-run single by Kyle Conrad and a run-scoring single by Narr for the final 18-7 margin.

Boom will return to action on Monday, March 21 against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.

Boom Goes the Dynamite Opens Spring Season With 19-19 Tie

Boom Goes the Dynamite's last inning rally fell just short as it settled for a 19-19 tie to open the spring season at Park Road Park on Monday night against Pay Us Like Pujols.

After Pujols jumped on top with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning, Boom answered with four runs of it's own, including a three-run homer by Eric Grieser and a solo shot by Tim Peters.

Pujols then knotted things at 4-4 in the top of the second inning, but Boom again had the answer, plating two more runs in the inning for a 6-4 advantage. Grieser's two-run inside-the-park home run providing the offense.

The scoring onslaught continued in the third inning, as the teams combined for 18 runs, with Pujols scoring 10 for a 14-6 leac and Boom answering with an eighti-run third inning. A three-run homer by Kyle Conrad and a two-run single from Pat Carpenito were the big hits in the frame.

Trailing 19-15 heading into the bottom of the sixth, and final inning, Boom Goes the Dynamite tied the game on the strength of a two-run double by Nathan Buechlein and an RBI single by Andy Kerrigan, but left the bases loaded to provide the final 19-19 score.

Boom will return to action next Monday night against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
