Hello, and welcome to the 2010 season of Sweet Shop/Double Deuce Softball. The crew has a new look this year, and will seek to do damage in a more "full" version of Division A Holmen Softball. They kick things off tonight at 7:00 PM on field C against long time rivals, who are under a new sponsor, Petticoat Junction. (Formally Crazy Horse)

The Sweet Shop had a double header this past week. Their first game was against multistack, who came out swingin even though they only had 8 guys. The boys in yellow were on the verge of getting run ruled but had a huge 5th inning, scoring 12 runs. It came down to the bottom of the 7th with the game being tied Tony Sprain lead off with a single. Following two fly outs, J.D. Roberts hit one off of the fence to score Sprain all the way from first. Here's what Tony had to say, "Jesus ****** come on kid hit that one out of here so I don't have to run my *** off!!" Sorry about that profanity folks he's a big crazy animal. The second game was against Nick's Bar. The Sweet Shop got off to a fast start, scoring 7 runs in the first inning, after that it was pretty smooth sailing for the SS, who were buoyed by the late arrival of their captain, Chad Johnson, who was wearing some pretty questionable softball attire. Needless to say, the entire Deerwood complex was praying that it didn't rain!

This week the Sweet Shop had a double header. The first game was against Stetter Electric, who were actually in the game, but the offense was just too strong, plating 19 runs. The second game was against a familiar opponent in Nick's Bar. the Sweet Shop exploded for 28 runs while Nick's could only muster 7. Kiley Mondloch, a week after hitting a walk off two run homer against multistack, had 12 RBI's in the two games, here's what he had to say after the game. "We all really seemed to hit the ball well tonight, I mean even though it was rainy and cold...wait...did you just say...bags??? You wanna play? I'll do it right now, you can have any partner you want...seriously...I made a fold out version that stays in my bat bag. Bags? you guys got BAGS!!!!!!!!!!!

the Sweet Shop took one on the chin this week, due to some timely hitting by Schams. Despite the fact that the team actually used all 7 home runs, 5 were one run shots. There were wind gusts up to 50 mph which pushed some hard liners over the fence. Pitcher Ben Schultz said after the game, "We just couldn't string anything together, their hits fell and ours didn't. It just goes that way sometimes. We just have to come out swingin next week." Ben also added, "J.D. better get on those stats, I went 4 for 4 today so that better be updated soon!"

on Tuesday May 5th, Sweet Shop pounded out 31 runs and moved to 2-0 on the young season. Team manager Chad Johnson said after the game; "We really hit the ball well today for cryin out loud. Those guys hit the ball hard, but our offense can play with the best of teams."
