This was suppose to be a huge game based on our expectations from the Stout Men, but it was not as the defense and pitching by Berger kept them under control most of the game.

Trailing 3 - 1 heading to the 3rd our bats came alive as the team put up 4 runs to take a 5 - 3 lead which we never surrendered. Brian Reardon got on base with a hustling 3B on a ball that should have been a 1B. Ricky Win knocked him home with a sac fly a specialty of his all season. Nick & Pete then got 1B's and scored on a line drive deep to left center by for a 2B by Fish. Chris scored Fish for the 4th run on a 1B to end the inning.

With 11 runs in the next 4 innings we lead 16 - 5 after the 7th. The key hits that drove in the 11 runs came from a 2 run 2B in the 4th, another RBI 2B in the 6th by Nick. Berger drove in 2 runs with a 1B in the 5th. In the 7th Dean, Reardon and Ricky drove in a run each on 1B's. Although the Stout Men put on a strong finish with 6 runs after the 5th it still was not enough. A 2 run Homer from Nick in the 9th put the game away for us.

DEFENSIVE STARS: FISH very nice plays at second due to an injury. Reardon put on a great show a short as he displayed great range on balls hit to his left and right. Nick filled in for Fish in Left and played flawless ball.

OFFENSIVE STARS: NICK batting in the cleanup spot had two 2B's, 1B, HR for 5 RBI's and 3 R's. Berger had a BB & 3 1B's as the lead-off hitter. Ricky collected 4 hits for 4 RBI's and 4 R's. Fish got a BB, two 2B's & two 1B's for 3 RBI's. Chris was 4 -5. Reardon had a 1B, 2B & 3B, Pete two 1B's, Tommy & Dean a 1B each which left the coach as the only player that did not get a hit. He did hit into a DP for the 30 pack.

Just as we did in the first game of the double header we put up 7 runs early and 5 in the 3rd inning to remain undefeated. Aside from the offensive day the team saw Tommy pitch in the last inning to complete the fun of having him play all 10 positions for the double header. Nice job MR UTILITY.

Nick lead off the 1st with a HR bomb for his second of the day. Pete would score Ricky who had a 1B earlier. Again Whittey did not give Pete a second RBI as he held at third after he had gotten a 2B. Berger & Fish collected an RBI on 1B's and Chris a big 3 run 3B to give us a 7 run lead after the 1st.

Black Sheep came back with 2 runs in the 1st & 2nd, but it was not enough as we put up 5 more runs in the 3rd. Although Black Sheep ended the game with 4 runs in the 7th it still was not enough to over come our 7 run 1st.

In the 5th Berger again came up huge with a 2 run 2B to score Whittey who had a 1B and Pete who hit a 2B to start the inning. Matt & Fish would follow with back to back 1B's and be knocked in by Tommy and a 1B from Dean for the 5th run of the inning. We closed out the game with 3 more runs in the 6th on a 1B by the coach, 2B from Nick for a RBI, another run scored on a 1B from Reardon, a Ricky 1B with Whittey knocking in the 3rd run of the inning for a victory.

DEFENSIVE STARS: BERGER ended the game on a hot shot at third base. Reardon played another good game at SS as he made several plays ranging to his left and right plus going deep in the whole to get outs. Whittey made nice picks at first.

OFFENSIVE STARS: BERGER 3 hits, 2 R's & 3 RBI's, Nick HR, two 1B's for 2 R's & 2 RBI's. Ricky and Whittey each had a good day with 3 hits. Pete continues to hit as he got 2 more. Matt & Fish also contributed with 2 hits each. Chris (3 run 2B), the Coach, Reardon, Tommy and Dean all came away with a hit.

BERGER'S two-out, two-run 1B capped a seven-run first inning to lift the TEAM to a 13 - 9 win.

Nick and Brian Reardon hit back to back 1B's and scored on a line drive 2B from Whittey to put us ahead early in the first 2 - 0. Pete followed with a 1B, while Whittey held at 3rd so there would be no RBI for Pete. Of course this was all done in fun! It did make the team relax and have fun enroute to a victory. Back to the game, a 3B from Matt scored 2 more runs in the first. Then an RBI 1B by Fish, 1B from Chris paved way for Berger to drive in the final 2 runs of the first.

Nick would hit a shot for a HR in the second. In the third Whittey started it with a 1B and would end up scoring what would be the game winning run on a solid 2B by Fish.

Three back to back 1B's by Berger, Dean & the Coach lead off the fourth. Nick would knock in 2 of the m with a 2B and Reardon 2 more on a 1B. Pete would end up driving in the final run of the day for the team with a 1B.

As for the Black Sheep they tried to stay in the game with a run or two each inning, but the 7 run first for us was to much to over come. This was a complete team effort. Everybody did well, we got good at-bats, nice pitching and key hits.

DEFENSIVE STARS: TOMMY playing nearly every position. Over all team defense.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Nick 4 hits, 3 R's & 3 RBI's, Whittey, 3 hits, 2 R's & 2 RBI's. A 3 hit day by Berger, 2 hits from Pete, Reardon, Fish, Chris, and a hit each by Matt, Dean & the Coach aped off a 21 total hits.

Although we won by 15 runs the game was close until the 6th and 7th when we put up a total of 16 runs to win 27 - 12.

The Dirt Dogs jumped out early with 5 runs in the 1st a they hit the ball hard. We bounced back with 4 runs thanks to an RBI 1B from Berger, a hustling RBI 2B by Chris Hanlon and a line drive 2 run 1B from Matt.

In the 2nd Tommy got us going with a 3B which was one of five hits on the day for him. Reardon knocked him in an a RBI 1B and was moved to 2nd base on a sac fly by Ricky who also had a nice game with 3 hits. Pete would drive Reardon in with a sharp 1B for his first of five RBI's of the game. Chris Hanlon scored Pete with a 2B to tie the game at 7. The Dirt Dogs put up 3 runs in the 3rd to retake the lead. An RBI 1B from Tommy cut their lead to 2 runs after the 3rd.

We would tie it up 10 - 10 with 2 runs in the 4th. The key hit in the inning was a 2B from Chris Herr who was playing his first game of the season. Down by 1 in the 5th a lead off 3B from Tommy set up an RBI 1B by Reardon to tie the score at 11 after 5 innings. At this point in the game our offense broke lose to score 8 runs in the 6th & 7th enroute to a victory to remain undefeated.

In the 6th, Matt, Dean & Ricky knocked in a run each. Pete & Nick drove in 2 runs each on 2B's to take a 19 to 11 lead after 6. Berger and the defense would not give up a run in the 7th. The offense continued to click though for us in the 7th as we scored 8 more runs. Back to back 1B's from Chris Hanlon & Matt set up an RBI 1B by Dean and 2 more runs on a 2B from Chris Herr. Nick followed up with an RBI on a deep sac fly. Pete would conclude the 7th and put the game out of reach with a line drive bullet to LCF for a 2 run homer and final score 27 - 12.

DEFENSIVE STARS: Tommy made a terrific diving catch in RCF which seemed to ignite the team. Chris Hanlon came up with a diving catch in LCF to prevent runs and a potential big inning.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Pete huge game 4 hits, 5 RBI's & 2 Runs. Tommy 5 for 6 with two 3B's, 3 runs & 3 RBI's. Berger 3 hits, Chris Hanlon two 2B's & two 1B's with 3 runs. Matt 3 hits, 3 RBI's 3 runs, Dean very nice game with 4 hits, 3 runs & 2 RBI's. Ricky 3 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBI's. Nick a key 2B for two runs. Finally Chris Herr for his first game back had 3 hits and 3 RBI's.

What a game and great win against a good team. The coach of the Red Sox made sure his top players showed up to play us. Although they showed and hit well to have a 4 run lead going to the 8th inning it was not enough as we not only tied the game, but took a 3 run lead heading to the 9th and a win to remain undefeated. As the coach for the Red Sox shook my hands to congratulate our win, he said "with the way we came from behind late to win, it's no wonder your team is undefeated".

Trailing 4 - 0 going to the 2nd it was time to score before the Red Sox became more confident with how they were playing us. Matt who continues to swing a hot bat, got us going with a line drive 1B and was followed by a 1B from Berger. Dean who came to the plate next drove in 2 runs on a 3B. Ralph scored Dean on a sacrifice fly to cut the lead 4 - 3 after the 2nd. They continued to hit, by putting up 5 more runs before we scored again in the 5th thanks to a lead-off 3B by Fisher. Our team defense and good pitching did shut down the Red Sox for 2 innings which gave us a chance to cut into the 9 - 4 deficit as we came to bat in the bottom of the 6th.

In the 6th, back to back 1B's from Ralph and Chris got us started. The coach scored Ralph for the 5th run and he would come around to score on a 3B by Nick. Tommy scored on a 1B by Pete to end the 6th 9 - 7 the Red Sox. As we cut into their lead, they knew more runs were needed to hold off our last efforts to win. They did increase their lead by 4, but as it turned out it was not enough.

As we came to bat down 4 runs in the 8th, it was time to score or else end up with our first loss of the season. The team pulled together no way are were we going to do it right now. After the coach spoke to his club about being more patient at the plate and stepping back in the box towards the catcher to hit the ball better as it came down lower into the hitting zone. It worked great, as we got 7 hits to not only tie the game, but take a 3 run lead heading to the 9th. The on-slaught of hits in the 6th and 8th was good to see especially since we only got 5 hits earlier due to their Pitcher and third baseman, Coach Dave. He made several plays some that prevented doubles down the line. As We came to the plate in the 8th we knew that in order to win the team needed to make the adjustments.

Dean & Ralph hit back to back 1B's to start us off in the 8th and Nick would score Ralph. Then Tommy & Pete got 2 key 1b's and Ricky hustled down the line to beat out a errant play which kept the inning going. It set things up for the games tying 2 run 2B from Owens. Fish & Matt would follow with back to back RBI 2B's to put us ahead 14 to 11 after 8. We did shut the Red Sox down in the 9th to take a great come back win away from a good team. They played us tough and had us looking at our first loss until our superb never give up team attitude pulled out the win to remain undefeated.

DEFENSIVE STARS: Dean who filled in at 2nd played a steady game and took part in a double play. Ricky Winn did a very nice job at 1st showing his versatility. In the outfield, Fisher made several nice catches, as usual, to prevent any chance of the Red Sox scoring more. Pete played a nice heads up game at 3rd, like he has done every game as a rookie and finally Nick prevented some extra base hits in the gaps by backing up LF & RCF. Aside from the nice job the mentioned players did on defense, the team did not play that well. It needs to stay focused as we know it's our defense that will be the reason the team wins.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Brian Owens for his clutch 2B received the first game ball. The next ball was handed out to Fish for his defense and 2 hits one of which was the go ahead run in the 8th on a 2B. The final game ball was for the coach's (Binkie) Dean, for his steady play at 2nd and his offense. He ignited the team on a solid 3B n the 2nd inning to get us on the board and lead off the come from behind 8th with a 1B. Nick had 2 hits, 2 R's & 2 RBI's as another offensive contributor. Tommy, Pete, Berger and Ralph each had 2 hits. Matt hit the ball very hard all day with no luck on two at bats, but he did come away with 2 solid line drive hits. Although the offense did not click early in the game, it came up big in the 8th with 7 R's on 7 hits three of which were clutch 2B's.

This was a game filled with everything, sloppy defense, great plays and good offense. It was close up to the seventh inning when we put up 6 for a 17 to 8 lead with two to play. It turned out we needed the 9 run lead for the Long Shots made a good effort for a come from behind win by scoring 5 runs. However, their effort came up short as we won 17 to 13 to remain undefeated.

Nick and Ricky got things going early in the first with 1B's to set it up a two run 3B by Pete for a 2 - 0 lead. A solid 1B by Whittey would score Pete for the third run. The Long Shots came back quickly in the bottom of the first with 2 runs as we played a little shaky defense.

Berger and Tommy got us going in the second with back to back 1B's. Then a 1B by Owens and the Coach would give the team a 5 to 2 lead. Again the Long Shots came back to score quickly with the help of our poor defense for they scored 4 runs to go ahead by one after two innings. Both teams did not score again until the fifth.

Trailing by a run Tommy hit a 1b and scored on a deep 3B from Owens to tie it up. An opposite field line drive 1B from Chris would score Owens to take the lead. A hustle 2B by Ralph followed to set up an RBI 1B by the Coach. Brian Reardon would score the coach on a solid line drive 2B. With a 9 to 6 lead things started to look good for us. However, the Long Shots would peck away for 2 runs to cut into our lead. If not for two good defensive plays they could have taken the lead. Our defense showed why it is one of the best if it stays focused. Pete made a nice stop at third and then threw to Mike Brown at second for the out. The play more than likely prevented a 2B. Mike then followed up with another smart play by fielding the ball at second and gunning the runner down at home as Ralph took the throw to nail the out. It was the second time the Long Shots had a runner thrown out at home as previously in the second inning Nick backed up Fish on a gap 2b to throw the ball into Brian Reardon who then turned and fired a rocket of a throw to Ralph at home for the out.

As the team came to the plate in the sixth with a 1 run lead we had to score more in order to win. Thanks to a lead-off 1B by Pete, a RBI 3B from Whittey and a sacrifice fly from Matt we increased our lead to three runs. In the eight inning we hit 7 back to back 1B's and a 2B to score 6 runs. It put us ahead by 9 runs. Tommy & Owens had 1B's which set up an RBI 1B from Chris. Ralph and the coach followed with RBI 1B's. Then Nick hit a 1B to load the bases for Brian Reardon. He stepped up and hit a 3 run 2B for the key moment of the game as it put us ahead for good by 17 to 8. As it turned out we needed the runs. The Long Shots as they did all game came back with 2 runs in the eight and 3 in the ninth to fall just short of a come back win. Berger nice stop on a grounder at first help prevent the Long Shots from getting more runs.

DEFENSIVE STARS: Nick backing up Fish all game as it showed on his relay throw to Brian Reardon who nailed the runner at home with Ralph making the tag. Pete's play at third to get the runner going into second as Brown made the out. Another play started this time by Mike Brown was great to see as he guned down a runner at home again with Ralph making the out. Finally Berger play at first late in the game to prevent a rally.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Pete 3 hits one a 3B, 2 R's & 2 RBI's for a game ball. Whittey was not out done by his pal Pete as he had 3 hits with a 3B, 2 R's & an RBI. Ralph received the third game ball for his defense and a 2 - 3 day. Matt contributed again with a 2 - 3 day. Tommy & Owens each had 3 hits. Dave, Nick, Ricky and Chris collected 2 hits each. Brian Reardon continues to hit well with two more 2B's for 4 RBI's. The coach had 3 hits with 3 RBI's to help us win.

A nine run fourth turns a close game into the start of a slaughter. Matt who had a great offensive day with 4 hits started the inning with a 2b and scored on a Berger 2b. Ralph & the coach would later hit 1b's with Brian Reardon knocking in a run his first of 6 on the day. Pete would hit a RBI 3b later to be followed up with a RBI 1b's from Owens & Fish. Matt came up for the second time to drive in the 9th run on a 3b to put us ahead for good 15 - 5.

The team scored 17 more runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh before making the game official with 2 more runs in the eight for a 34 - 9 win. Nick & Brian Reardon would hit back to back 2b's for 10 RBI's in the fifth, sixth & seventh. Owens would hit a HR shot and 2b upon his return to the team after being injured. Matt continued his great offensive day with another 2b and 3b in the seventh & eight. All in all we put up 22 hits for 14 runs the last four innings.

OFFENSIVE STARS: BRIAN REARDON 6 - 6, (4 extra base hits), 6 RBI's and 4 R's. It was a fantastic performance. Matt nearly duplicated Reardon's effort by getting 4 hits two being 2b's and 3b's. Owens had 4 hits one a HR, 3 R's & 5 RBI's. Berger and Chris each had 4 hits. Nick had 3 hits, 3 R's & 5 RBI's. Fish, Ralph & the coach had 3 hits each. Pete and Ricky also collected 2 hits each which gave everyone a hit on the team. GAME BALLS Matt, Berger and Reardon.

This game had everything in it, offense, defense and pitching in tough windy conditions. The team collected 28 total hits with 6 being for extra bases. Ricky battled the wind all day long as it was very tough to control were the ball was being pitched. He did a great job under the circumstances especially a good team to help us come away with our fourth win of the season. He did need relief late from Berger as he came in to shut down the Free Agents for 2 innings.

Offensively the team put up three runs early in the first. Nick lead off with a solid 2b and scored on a 1b by Reardon, for the first run of the game. Pete and Berger would the n single in a run each to close the first. In the second the Free Agents scored 4 times and they put up 2 more in the third to go ahead 7 - 4.

That is when our bats came alive as we scored three times in the fourth and five in the fifth to take a 12 - 7 lead. In the fourth Berger & Matt started the rally with back to back singles and would score on RBI's from Tommy 7 Ralph. Ricky started the next inning with a solid drive for a 2b and Whittey walked. It set the scene for a line drive over the left fielders head for an inside the park homer for three runs by Fish.
Tommy Williams would follow three batters later with a two run homer and the lead 12 - 7. Free Agents came back in the bottom of the fifth with two runs to cut the deficit to five. Both teams were shut down the next inning.

In the final two innings we added 6 more insurance runs. The big hits came on a two run single by the Coach in the eight and another on Nick's two run single in the ninth for the final score 18 - 11.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Nick had 4 hits & 2 RBI's, Berger 4 hits, Ricky & 3 R's, Tommy and Ralph 3 hits each with 3 RBI's. Tommy also had an inside the park homer in addition to Fisher. Reardon, Whittey, Fish, Matt and the coach all collected 2 hits. Pete hit 1 to give everyone one for the day. Ricky on behalf of the team elected to give the Coach a game ball for his clutch hit in the 8th that put the game away for good.

You might say this game was over early after we put up 13 runs on 12 hits in the first inning. We came out on fire with 9 straight hits one of which was a three run homer by Pete. Nick would close out the first with another three run homer. It may have been the teams best offensive inning in the teams history.

In the second we came up with two more runs. Ricky started the inning with a 1b with Whittey to follow with another 1b before Mike Brown scored Ricky. Berger later got a 1b and was driven home on a 1b from Pete to put the team ahead 15 to 0 after the second. The team would put up two more runs in the fifth and sixth on RBI singles from Owens, a Sac Fly by Ralph and a Mike Brown single for two. It put the team ahead 19 to 0. To close out the game we put up four more runs in the ninth thanks in part to 4 straight hits. Mike Brown knocked in two of the runs on a shot to deep RCF for a triple. He would then score on another triple by Fisher his fourth hit of the day. Pete would close out the win with a sac fly to score Fish from 3rd to give the team its third win of the season.

Defensively the team played a solid game. Mike Fisher and Nick making nice catches in the outfield. The big plays of the game to stop any chance of a victory by the Dirt Dogs came in the second and third innings by Ricky & Mike Brown. In the second with the bases loaded Ricky grabbed a hot shot up the middle for the third out. If that play was not demoralizing enough for the Dogs, Mike made a terrific play in the third at second base to prevent runs and a big inning from getting going.

Otherwise the Dirt Dogs were held at bay all game by Ricky with his great control and defense on the hill. He showed why he is still one of the best in the league.

OFFENSIVE STARS: Reardon & Ricky 4 hits, 3 R's each, Fish 4 hits, 3 R's & 2 RBI's. Mike Brown 3 hits, 3 R's & 6 RBI's. Pete 3 hits, and 6 RBI's. Nick 3 hits, 3 R's and 3 RBI's. Both Pete and Nick hit diners out. Whittey, Berger and Ralph each had 2 hits on the day. Tommy, Owens and the Coach had 1 hit. The team had 30 total hits. On the day Pete, got game ball number 1, Fish the second one and Brian Reardon the third for a great job by all three.

Ricky Winn started the game on the hill, but had to pull himself early because of a bad back. Dave "Burger" Arno took over and ended up pitching a gem allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Burger did recieve some excellent support defensively from his teammates as they made several nice plays twhich stoped any potentoal big innings by Stout Men.

The offense came out huge in the first inning by scoring 7 runs. Trailing 4 to 0 the teams new comer Nick got Forever Young's offense going quickly with a lead off line drive home run to left. The team would follow up with 6 hits and 6 runs. Ricky and Whittey collected 2 hits each and scored the teams second and third runs of the day. Matt & Burger continued the inning with 2 solid hits and would later score on RBI singles by Brian Owens and Ralph to end a 7 run inning. The team felt great getting off to a good offensive showing, but Stout Men tightened up their defense behind Scott Austins good pitching effort.

The team did manage to come up with 4 more runs on the day, but it knew after the first inning they struggled offensively all day. Nick Lococo would hit another dingier for his second of the game, while Pete Solbo would end the day with a HR for the final score of 11 to 6 in favor of Forever Young.

DEFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS: Dave "Burger" Arno and the defense stepped up big time today. Burger was extremely sharp with his pitching. When Stout Men hit hard line drives off him, his teammates would flash their excellent play on defense. Tommy Williams, Brian Reardon, Pete Solbo and John Annand all made some very nice plays in the infield. While Dean gunned down a runner at home on a nice tag by catcher Jeff Costello. Nick Lococo in left field ended the game on a nice diving catch. It did seem like no matter what Stout Men tried to do offensively today, the defense was to much for them to overcome.

OFFENSIVE NOTES: Nick Lococo continues to shine as he collected 2 more HR's. Whittey, Brian Owens and Ralph each had a solid day with 3 hits. Matt and Burger had a nice game with 2 hits, while Ricky, Tommy, Brian Reardon, Dean, Coach Neal all collected a single each and Pete hit a solo HR for a team a total of 22 hits on the day.
Three game balls were handed out by the coach to Dave (Burger), John (Whittey) and Nick for their excellent contributions. If the coach elected to give more game balls he would have to hand out several for the teams defense.

The win felt great, as the team knew that Stout Men had improved their team in the off season.

Forever Young hit the ball well for its first game thanks in part to its new addition Nick Lococo as he collected 5 hits, 6 rbi's and 5 runs. Nick tied the game up 2 to 2 in the third on his first hit a two run home run. In the fourth back to back singles from Mike Brown & Jeff Costello gave Forever Young the lead 5 to 3 as they would score on a rbi double by Brian Owens and a tripple from Ralph Deckert. In the 6th Brian Reardon, Brian Owens and David Arno would knock in two runs each to put the game away for a win by Forever Young.

Defensively Nick Lococo filled in nicely for left fielder Mike Fisher as he made several good catches to prevent two rallies by the Weekend Warriors. Aside from the 3 homers to Warrior slugger Jeremy David, Ricky Winn pitched a steady game to help give Forever Young its first win of the season.

Offensively aside from the performance by Nick Lococo, Forever Young's Brian Reardon, Ricky Winn, Whittey, Matt Urban, Brian Owens, Ralph Deckert and David Arno collected 3 hits each. Other good at bats came from Jeff Costello, Chris Herr and Coach Neal, as they had 2 hits. While Mike Brown chipped in with a single giving everyone a hit in Forever Young's line-up.
